Business Development Director/Senior Director
PacificGMP seeks an energetic, driven individual for biodevelopment and manufacturing sales and business development to be a key member of our dynamic and fast-paced team. The ideal individual will possess a strong determination and be a self-starter with at least 5-7 years experience in contract sales and business development within the biotechnology industry. Must have a demonstrated track record of increasing sales, and quality lead generation. Must have effective sales skills, and willingness to perform cold calling and prospecting and to develop account strategies and expand sales through accounts.
Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications:
• Proactively seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities
• Effectively market and sell PacificGMP services to customers through sales presentations, cold calls and personal visits
• Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
• Highly organized and highly effective time management skills
• High computer literacy. Experience with sales database programs, e.g. salesforce.com a plus
• Strong negotiating skills
• Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
• Establish daily goals, follow up on contracts and devise appropriate sales strategies
• Results driven and effectiveness in moving projects or tasks to completion
• Coordinate sales efforts with internal resources, e.g. chief scientific officer, CEO, quality, marketing and other senior management
• Strong presentation skills and ability to present features and benefits to highly discerning technical and regulatory-focused clients
• Thorough understanding of the therapeutic development process including expression systems, cell lines, cell line optimization and banking, cGMP processes, formulation and upstream and downstream drug product manufacturing
• Familiarity with RFP’s and contracts. Familiarity and success with government contracts a plus
• Support marketing effort through technical writing and reports and presentations at conferences
The position will require extensive US and some international travel. Experience in international markets is highly valued.
